IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD
Published 1996
In the aftermath of a marriage turned sour, Patrícia leaves her husband and, with their daughter, moves back to the house where she grew up. To her, home means a four-story building belonging to her grandmother. Grandma Nini, has divided the building into four independent apartments thinking that would be the best way to keep her three (now adult) children under her control. Keeping the top floor for herself, she rules and manipulates everybody bellow her until the day she dies.
Back in this familiar world, Patrícia is assaulted by memories, emotions and reflections and tries to figure out what to do with her future.
Set in the second half of last century, during an era when Portugal was divided into ‘before and after the revolution’, the narrative moves between past and present.
